Vegetation map of the Santa Monica Mountains taken before the 1996
Calabasas/ Malibu brush fire. The fire started in Calabasas on October
21 and, eventually, burned more than 12,000 acres. This image was taken
on October 17th. The bands used in this image are as follows: Red= Band
20 (556.83 nm) Green= Band 90 (1213.58 nm) Blue= Band 140 (1682.51 nm).
This image is centered near Agoura Hills. The line near the top of the
image is the 101 Freeway. Malibu Lake is the black, arrow-shaped region.
Mulholland Highway is the red line just north of Malibu Lake. The bottom
part of the image is Malibu Creek State Park.

Black and White image of the Santa Monica Mountains taken on October
23rd. This image is of band 224 (2507.59 nm) and is stretched harshly to
bring out the residual hot spots. The hot spots are the small white dots
in the middle right part of the image.
