obtain clearance for entry onto a dry lakebed (either from the BLM in Needles for Ivanpah Playa, or from Edwards AFB Ground Ops for Rogers Dry Lake)
need flightline certification training to drive onto Rogers Dry Lake
check naval observatory website to find time of local solar noon; coordinate with AVIRIS experiment coordinator and pilots to arrange overflights spaced around this time
